Individual therapy
You can decide how often you want to meet for individual therapy. In the beginning of therapy, many people choose to come every week for a while until the immediate concern is somewhat relieved. You can also choose every other week or, if your situation is particularly acute or if you are in crisis, you may need to meet twice a week for a few weeks until things feel more stable for you.
Group therapy
This is a particularly exciting and dynamic form of therapy. Group therapy can be very helpful for those who are working on how they relate to others and engage in intimate relationships; for those healing from past trauma and abuse; for those working on letting go of shame and fear; and for those who want extra support and connection with others who are also committed to doing inner work.
Couples therapy
In couples’ therapy, you get to explore the particular dynamic of your relationship with your partner, as well as the deeper issues that are involved in that dynamic. As each partner starts to learn ways to change and heal his or her part of the relationship dynamic, the whole relationship can then start to change. Depending on the couple and the issues presented, sometimes individual therapy for one or both partners is helpful before or at the same time the couples’ work happens.
